Chip Timing..

I’ve decided that I’m all for chip timing. I DO NOT think a promoter should be forced to use it but I am willing to accept it as our future as it is in running races, xc ski events, mountain bike events etc. It would have been nice (for example) to have gone over to the registration tent at Durand yesterday to see the places of not only my race but the other categories as well. I don’t think the additional cost will outweigh the benefits of chip timing in the limited events where it will be required and we will find that it’s a huge benefit to us all. All you have to do is remember to bring it. To rent for just the road season it will be $30 or just the cross season $15 or both for $45. If you would like to purchase your own it is $95. The chip has a 3 year warranty. Mike Delany will be available at Opus for further details and I also have his form for chip season rental and could email it to you.

Especially top 10, you didn’t come all that way and pay all that money not to know how you did.

timmer – chip timing still will not tell any story of race – other than places – which we pay officials for anyhow. Without your commentary – for example – one would have no idea why Pat finished 32nd – chip timing would show him 1:52 behind the winner. I am all for technology – I just don’t see the need for the information of being 8 minutes behind the race winner is pertinent to the race efforts. just saying.

Tim-reminds me of cloth race numbers. You either remember yours or pay up for another one. But they still did nothing for the race stories, and we did not have the internet either. Look forward to more stories and hey need a beer after that killer circuit race in Milwaukee I hear Zanolli might make another comeback?

Chip timing is useless, a total scam, and complete bullshit.

The 45 minute chip line, the “bathroom”, blahahha
It could work smoothly, but more than one guy (not just Skibby) needs to run the operation.

Wisports do this… It takes time but MCF will learn to suck and swallow it all down…just like their un-santioned counterparts.
